If you’ve ever bought a car, you know how difficult it can be. Unfortunately, buying a jet is a much more difficult and time-consuming process. Still, it will all seem worth it once you’re zooming through the air in your new jet, sipping on champagne. Here are a few important factors to consider when selecting a jet:
Your travel needs
Before you begin the aircraft acquisition process, you should first make a detailed list of all of your travel needs. For example, you might want an aircraft that can make it across the Atlantic or one with a good-sized galley. You might also consider how many passengers you want to accommodate—if you plan on regularly jet-setting with a dozen associates, then you should get a heavy jet; if you prefer to travel alone, a light jet should be just fine.
Jet condition
Though there’s a certain prestige that comes with buying a new jet, your first acquisition should probably be a used jet. When buying a used jet, you should make absolutely sure that you know what you’re getting. For help inspecting a particular jet’s systems, it’s a very good idea to hire a team of professionals to help you find imperfections and negotiate a new price.
Your budget
You’ve probably heard plenty stories of newly wealthy athletes, actors, and businessmen who splurge on luxurious jets only to have them repossessed a few years later. In order to prevent this from happening to you, it’s important that you buy a jet that is squarely within your means. You might also consider finding a silent partner to help you offset the cost of your new jet by chartering it out.
Though buying a jet can be difficult, you don’t have to do it alone. For help each step of the way, contact Million Air Dallas. If you’re looking to offset the cost, you can even become a part of our charter revenue program. Call us today at (972) 248-1600 to get started.
